Dawson named NWL Pitcher of the Week
This past month has been a big month for PBA alumni in the Minor Leagues. The PBA currently has 3 players in Triple A baseball, and are knocking on the door of potentially being a September call-up to the big leagues. This past week our most recent draft pick 17th round to the Blue Jays in 2012 Shane Dawson, made his move from the Gulf Coast League Jays, to the last remaining professional baseball team in Canada the Vancouver Canadians. In Shane's opening start with the team he went 4 innings allowing 1 hit, no earned runs while striking out 6. In his first professional Canadian start on August the 4th Dawson pitched 5 scoreless innings allowing 4 hits while striking out 9 batters. Shane has been limited to a pitch-count and should progressively begin to go deeper into ball games. These 2 starts earned Shane Dawson the honour of being named NWL Pitcher of the week. Congrats Shane and keep up the good work.
