I am pleased to report on another very successful year. The varsity team was 31 and 19 overall with a 23 and 5 league record, which turned into another League Championship; our fifth in a row. We did not win the final tournament losing to a very good Thompson River University team 9-8 in the final. We have always measured our success on sending players on from our program and in that regard it was a great year.

  • Mac Batchelor will be going to William Wood University
  • Curtis Beaudion and Duncan Sourisseau are going to Louisiana State University Shreveport
  • Josh Drews, Brad Ferraro and Mark Kuzyk are off to Mayville State University
  • Jared Mortensen will be attending Mt. Olive College
  • Zach Rhodes will go to South Dakota University
  • Jay Johnson will pitch for Texas Tech University

This means all nine of our graduating student athletes received scholarships to attend and play University ball south of the border.

We also had numerous individual records set by our players.

  • Zach Rhodes set career records with 120 hits and 82 RBI and 53 walks over two seasons. He also set a single season record with 32 walks
  • Curtis Beaudion set single season records with 75 hits 55 RBI and tied for home runs with 7.

The program is 4 games away from competing in its 600th game in 2010. Our current record is 334 wins and 257 losses with 3 ties. The up coming season will be the Prairie Dawgs 15th.

When we started this program we felt we had to establish a tradition. We feel we are well on our way to doing that.
